If you’re willing to get out of your own way, some truly epic shit can take place in your life. At various points in this journey I’ve performed standing in my own way at an elite level. Hall Of Fame levels of self sabotage. The idea being that by denying going after the things I really want in life, I save myself from messy things like shame, failure, heartbreak and by default happiness, success, joy. Hiding in plain site. You walk past the mirror and try not to stare too long, so you don’t have to acknowledge that bullshitting yourself has become your full time job. You love the shit out of everyone else so no one can tell how little your loving yourself. It’s an exhausting way to live, especially since you know no one is coming to save you. This weekend I decided to step out of my own way, let go and engage in some RADICAL LIFE THERAPY. I explored the entirety of my existence and saw myself in ways I couldn’t dream of in a safety net of vulnerability, love and protection. I’ve got the keys now to a new set of eyes and a sharpened third one. My mind and my heart are in union for the first time in a long time. Now the real work begins and I’m gonna have a blast doing so. I don’t get to hide anymore and that’s a beautiful thing … for everyone. My name is Selema Mabena Masekela and we’re about to have ALL OF THE FUN. #selflove #selfcare #populationINFINITY
