THE YEAH GUY! CHALLENGE
“A challenge for Yeah Guy!
I don’t know of anybody in any sport or activity that comes even close to Scott Bass and his completely absurd relation and dependency (like a junkie) on new boards. In each and every episode of Spit and The Boardroom he is always talking about that he’s getting at least one new board, maybe more. How is this even possible? Is he über rich? Does he get everything for free? How does he store them? How can one person come even close to understanding the boards? Usually it takes time to get to know and understand a board, what fins and configuration etc.
So the challenge for Yeah Guy would be to see how long he could go without getting a new board. Let’s say that the challenge is six months (probably impossible). I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t accept this, but let’s assume that he does. How would it impact his surfing? Maybe Scott is like those golfers that believe that the secret to get better at putting is to find “the perfect putter”, so they switch and buy new ones all the time. While the reality is that the best putters use the same putter all the time and are consistent with their stroke. “
