In today’s episode of Spit! Scott details his experience at the BSR Cable Park in Waco, Texas, David questions the virility of Shaun Tomson and the hair style choices of Don King, they both share a big announcement, question Kanoa’s Japanese-ness, assign the inevitable asterisk next to Filipe’s name, and crown this week’s Duke and Kook. Enjoy!
David and Scott are going back to Lemoore for the Surf Ranch Pro!

KS WAVE CO’S NEW CEO
The World Surf League (WSL) has appointed former Disney executive Nick Franklin as president of its Kelly Slater Wave Company (KSWC) operation.
Key areas of focus for Franklin in this role will be driving the growth and development of the business globally, pursuing strategic and operational integration with the WSL and leading the continued innovation and evolution of the product, including the wave, the venues and the customer experience.
Franklin joins the WSL following a long career at the Walt Disney Company. During his 18 years with Disney, Franklin worked in corporate strategy and in the Theme Park and Resort business unit where he led teams across a wide range of functions including global strategy, business development, real estate development, and brand and operations. Following his time at Disney, Franklin served as executive vice-president of strategic operations for KB Home.
“In 2009, Disney tapped Franklin, then the head of its global business and real-estate development teams, to lead a secretive project that was referred to internally as “NextGen.” That work ultimately produced MyMagic+, the many-tentacled technology project at Walt Disney Worldthat includes a reservation system allowing visitors to book attraction times up two months before their trips and microchip-embedded wristbands that interact with sensors installed around the giant resort. Franklin effectively functioned as an internal chief executive officer for MyMagic+, overseeing a team that began with 35 employees but eventually grew to more than 1,000.”
