I’m a surfer and my job is to call it how it is… yet I feel like unless I’m missing something no one really has yet! Brazil is completely fricking dominating the @wsl world tour with 5 out of the six event wins! @filipetoledo @italoferreira have been winning with some of the best performances we have ever seen in Surfing history. Surfing faster, cleaner and more radical then ever! @williancardoso went on a dream run through the Bali leg turning his dreams into a reality…. If any other surfing nation was dominating this hard the world would be all over it… Mad props to Brazil, congrats on an amazing run so far this year! #vaibrasil ??

WITH TAHITI AND PIPE, CAN FILIPE WIN A TITLE?
WHY HASN’T GABRIEL WON MORE THAN 1 TITLE?
His surfing is so fundamentally sound and, in fact, better than nearly all his competitors, and yet Gabriel has a hard time superseding our expectations for him. Is it strictly a psychological block that the viewer has, based on his highlight reels of yesteryear?
THE FACEBOOK ROLL-OUT
The WSL x Facebook hits multiple roadblocks with it’s roll out at JBay.
The stream gets interrupted, viewers are required to login through Facebook to view, and the Heat Analyzer is inactive.
David’s Pick: Torren Martyn’s leanback barrel, as shot by Nick Rapley for NeedEssentials.com
Scott’s Pick: Fifa World Cup
Joel Parkinson. Congrats on your retirement. 18 years on tour. 12 event wins, four runner-up places, three Triple Crowns, two perfect heats, one World Title. In 1999, at age 18, he won JBay as a wildcard and it was his first visit there.
