LISTENER SURF TRIP

AUGUST 2026 | CHICAMA BOUTIQUE HOTEL

We’re headed back to Chicama Boutique Hotel in Peru, one of the longest lefts in the world. We did this trip in 2025 and had tremendous success. We scored chest-high surf through most days of the trip and we’re hoping for a few extra feet this time. We brought 20 guests last year and the line-up is so vast that everyone got plenty of waves. The boats (included in the price) shuttled us out to the line-up and then would also retrieve each of us after long rides and deposit us back at the top of the point. They do an incredible job and increased our wave count x5.

We’ve booked the entire resort once again. Unfortunately Scott Bass has a scheduling conflict so David Scales will be the sole host this year.

The hotel itself is regarded as the finest in all of Northern Peru; clean, comfortable, good WiFi, and an excellent restaurant. The staff benefits from a profit share in the business so they are incredibly hospitable and lovely. They also have traditional spa amenities; massage, sauna, both indoor jacuzzi and an outdoor jacuzzi on the deck overlooking the surf.

If you feel inclined to leave the resort, there are other good waves within an hour drive and the town of Chicama is walkable with various shops and restaurants.

Water temp will be in the low to mid 60s. And the air temp in August should range between 60s and 70s.

Travel consists of a flight to Lima and then a short flight (45 mins) to Trujillo. From Trujillo it’s a 3 hour drive to Chicama via comfortable passenger van, organized and covered by the price of the trip.

Guests can room private single (king bed), double (2 twin beds/1 shared king for couple), triple (3 twin beds)

Chicama Surf Resort Package Inclusions:

• 7 Nights Chicama Surf Resort Accommodations
• Round Trip Airport Transfers Trujillo
• All Meals (buffet breakfast, lunch, & dinner) including 1 nonalcoholic & nonbottled beverage per meal
• 1 Massage per guest
• Chicama cup and all water during stay
• Tow Back Service at Chicama – 2 sessions per day (day 2 to 7) + afternoon day 1 and morning day 8
• Use of Resort Facilities: Saunas, jacuzzis, pool, gym, games room

Package notes:

• Surf transfers to other spots can be traded for 2 sessions of tow back (applies to entire group) or can be purchased at additional cost

• $500 non-refundable deposit due within 1 week to reserve a spot
• Remaining balance due 90 days prior to trip

Flights: 

The airline’s surfboard restrictions are tighter than ever. Waterways will help guide guests to the safest flights to book. Anyone taking surfboards over 7’0” should fly LATAM. Delta, American, and United all stay they won’t take boardbags over 115 linear inches (length x width x thickness) which comes out to around 7’0”.
