We started today with the horrendous news about the death of Ricardo dos Santos. David and Scott begin the show processing the tragedy, and then cover the details of the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout, Bruce Irons and Mason Ho’s RC car races, Zoltan’s kickflips, Kelly’s rumored involvement with Firewire, and Miki Dora’s personal attack against David. That’s right, huge drama this week in surfing and we get to the bottom of it all. Enjoy!

PE’AHI GREEN LIT THEN RED LIT
The WSL officially called it on for tomorrow and then officially called it off. Oh, and Kelly’s in the draw! There are still 5 weeks in the waiting period so hopefully see the contest run.
DA HUI BACKDOOR SHOOTOUT
Congratulations Mason Ho! Surfline did a pretty killer job covering the event. Here’s the link to their story. And equally entertaining is the link to Mason’s interview on BeachGrit.com
Bruce Irons got a 10 at Backdoor but the webcast camera’s missed it! Thankfully, Tyler Rock from Freesurf Magazine was on the beach and had a camera rolling. Here it is.
John John wasn’t allowed to surf in the event because it wasn’t sanctioned by the WSL, but he got this wave at Off The Wall.
JIMBO PELLEGRINE LOSES HIS ARM!
The world’s best heavyweight surfer loses his arm to a passing vehicle! Crazy story. LINK HERE

KOOK
The cowardly Brazilian off-duty military police officer, Luiz Paulo Mota Brentano, who shot and killed Ricardo dos Santos. Brentano and his brother were apprehended by military police following the attack and it’s understood Brentano has a heavy history of brutality. The soldier, stationed in Joinville, had previously had two complaints brought before the Public Prosector’s Office in Santa Catarina over alleged crimes of abuse of authority, bodily injury, threat and home invasion. In both cases he was acquitted over a lack of evidence.
DUKE
