Consummate host and spreader of aloha, Sid “The Package” Abruzzi is the subject of this week’s show. Hailing from Newport, Rhode Island, Sid helped pioneer the surf and skate movements for the North East. From playing an instrumental role in the first X-Games to helping pass legislation to save iconic surf spots, Sid has been at the center of surf and skate culture for the past 50 years and he’s even opened for Iggy Pop as the lead singer of the band ‘Big World’.¬†We’re proud to finally bring our conversation with Sid Abruzzi.     Awesome interview! As a 30 something from the area it was really great to listen to a quality interview with a local legend. It’s not often our little state is the main topic of a show so I really enjoyed this one. Growing up surfing all the spots and taking trips to Skaters Island leave me feeling as though I need to say thank you to Sid.
