The Eddie Aikau event organizers. Why didn’t it run on the 15th?

Kelly was out, JJF was out. Those there are claiming that the event was run-able, and that it was the most contest-able it’s been in 6 years. Hopefully we’ll get another opportunity in the coming weeks. Here’s one of Kelly’s waves from that day.

    hey guys,

first off, i love the show. (even in spite of scott bass’s hatred of medina, which seems pretty silly.)

i was surprised that neither of you mentioned Raimana Van Bastolear as your kook of the week, for towing the 15yr girl from malibu into waves at chopes, when the lineup was packed with surfers paddling for waves. it doesn’t take much research to see that this girl is the child of a wealthy malibu family, and most likely pay RVB for this service. to say that this reeks of privileged entitlement that comes with money, is only the start. i am curious how the others in the lineup felt about this. i am also curious how the both of you feel about this. personally it made me want to puke.

    aloha from norcal,
