I can think of few art forms that are more valuable to me than Surf Photography. It has shaped my Episode 3 - The Art & Business of Surf Photographylife and continues to do so daily. It is perhaps the most difficult and underpaid way to make a living with a camera. Two photographer’s whose work has influenced, provoked, and inspired me most are Aaron Chang & Morgan Maassen. Aaron represents the old guard, the pioneer, and the trailblazer of the digital revolution. Morgan, on the other hand represents the youth, fast pace and perhaps some of the glamour that comes with modern surf stardom. He, too is a trailblazer but of this modern era of social media that we are currently experiencing. Both their stories share many parallels, but none more significant than their intense love and passion for this sport of surfing. In this episode we discuss the art & business of surf photography.
